What the numbers miss
Policy debates talk about coverage rates and reimbursement. Inside the clinic, the currency is trust — built one visit at a time, often across a language barrier, almost always against the clock.
The staff here do not describe their work as heroic. They describe it as arithmetic: more need than hours, stretched by people who refuse to let the arithmetic win.
Why it matters
Systems are judged at their edges. This is an edge, and it is holding — barely, and only because people decided it should.
